What can I give my boyfriend to soothe his strep throat?

My boyfriend has a bad case of strep throat and I am trying to find something natural to soothe his throat. He says that ice hurts terribly. He's using Strepsils, Tylenol, and throat lozenges but he's still in excruciating pain. Throat spray is not an option. He's also tried gargling warm salt water but that didn't help either. It didn't hurt but it didn't give him relief.

try throat coat tea!! it's made especially for people with sore throats.
i get bad strep almost every year and this is a lifesaver.
even if it's not throat coat, ANY hot tea will make it a million times better.
tell him to be prepared to go pee a lot haha.

and don't listen to the person who's talking about cayenne pepper and stuff. that's just if you want to cover up the pain with the spice for a while. tea will actually heal it. NEVER do anything spicy with strep.
