How can something kill someone instantly?
I understand that people can be killed instantly by certain things but I have always wondered what the science behind it works.
I thought that if you were shot or injured and you died instantly it would have to be a direct hit on the heart or brain but I've heard that sometimes hits on other parts of the body can also kill instantly. Does the blood flow to your brain and heart stop instantly? Is that how you die? Surely your body would sort of stop after a while rather than instantly? If you were shot in a non-vital organ or place, can you still die instantly? Why and how does this happen?
With bullets or other high speed missiles the danger from a hit to a non vital area is hydrostatic shock, the trauma caused by the missile entering the body and displacing fluids can cause death instantly. not to mention leaving a deep line of scar tissue leading into the body even if you survive.
